Of all the Top Gear challenges, which one do you have to watch if it's on? I have to watch the British Leyland challenge for reasons I can't explain. The highlights:

That's a good episode. I like all of them, but the one I can't watch is the cheap supercar challenge, because reasons.

Albania/24h race and a lot of others. I don't think top gear makes any bad shows, just some that don't live up to their others.

I like all their challenges, but my favorite is the cheap supercar challenge. You can tell they just filmed the calamity as it occurred and the results are hysterical.

I have every episode on my computer (execpt season 21) so I don't really watch it from BBC America. I do like the veitnam and boliva specials though

24hr race was a good one. It definitely is one of my favorites. I wish we could see more cheap car challenges they were doing back in the days. It looks like the lads are too old to suffer in the crap cars these days.

That was the Ferrari/Lambo Urraco/Maserati Merak one? Another I find difficult to turn off.

Yeah - when James showed up in a tow truck, when Jeremy yelled "why won't you rev!!?" - the 34 pound SS badge. Classic.

I still laugh every time the Merak's engine explodes and showers James' Lambo in a cloud of oily smoke and bits of metal.

I wish they went into more detail with the 24hr race. I love the cheap car challenges as it presents more of a challenge then just the territory or distance. They are older but their bond and chemistry still can't be beat imo.

And the idea that the destination was a Spearmint Rhino in Slough (where The Office was set). Brilliant.

The limo challenge was a good one. Also the cheap Porsche one. All of them, really. Which one did they end with a trip to a Concours event where they had to tow one car between the other two to conceal the tow rope? That was amazing.

That was the Alfa challenge - Jeremy had what we called a Milano, Richard a Spyder, and James ... something they never sold in the US.

YES that's right. The looks of disgust from the judges were priceless

I've gotta agree with you. That is why Top Gear works - the three lads just love bugging the hell out of each other! But I think it is clear that they have toned down on the physically challenging stuff in recent seasons.

I remember first starting to watch that special and I was like, "Bikes? On a car show?" But I fell in love with it within minutes as it was hilarious and the scenery was beautiful at the same time.

It's my favorite top gear episode of all times.

It is definitely up there for me as well, as it turned out to be a pleasant surprise.

You just hit on the brilliance of the bit! I honestly think it was to mock everything about concours events. The type of gear heads the TG guys want to appeal to are the ones who would rather see an F40 die in a track accident than live forever in a museum.

The one with Richard and his car "Oliver". Also the one where Ted Nuget tried to kill Jeremy with a machete in the jungle.
